Runic inscription:
Not yet published!
The runestone was in such poor condition that
a deep cleaning was ruled out. Instead, it was cleaned
slowly with alcohol, which slowly dries out and kills the
lichen, which then slowly falls away.
As far as I know, no new attempt has been
made since the discovery to decipher and interpret the
ornamentation and runic inscription.

History
How the runestone was discovered
Someone passed the runestone at exactly the
right moment one early morning when the sun was casting
shadows in the carving marks.
A photograph was taken and sent to someone
asking if it was known before. This person sent the picture
to the next person asking the same thing and when it got to
me I realized it was a new discovery.
But where was the runestone?
Where was the picture taken?
The secret discoverer, who wished to remain
anonymous, could not be contacted, but it had at least been
clear from the very beginning that the runestone was
somewhere in Ekerö municipality.
The picture showed a road and a piece of
short-cut lawn, a golf course?
(See picture below).
I sent the photo to my friend and archaeologist Roger Wikell
who unfortunately happened to be in northern Sweden on an
archaeological dig.
With great persistence and in a short amount of time, he
still managed to figure out the location where the
photograph was taken using Google maps.

Five days later, Roger was back and the discovery was a
fact; Ekerö municipality had received yet another new
runestone.
The original, and observant discoverer, is
still anonymous, at least to me on 2025.11.27
