Carving surface facing SE

History
After having served as a footbridge over a
drainage ditch for a long time, it is now beautifully
erected in a small meadow with the image surface facing SE.
The runestone is surrounded by a larger, but damaged Viking
Age burial field with just over 40 visible graves, 8 of
which are burial mounds.

By car, it is best to park on the opposite
side of
Fållvägen 19-21 and then follow the path a short
distance through the forest to the small meadow.
A sign will show you the way.

The lost
runestone U 39,
which is supposed to be found at the now disappeared and
forgotten croft Runketorp, a croft that belonged to
Torslunda. That runestone was carved by the same runecarver,
it has the same layout and the same motif.
